Curbside Update - June 2021
With recent updates to the CDC’s guidelines we’re here to answer the question on everyone’s mind… “When can we come in?!”
At the start of the pandemic veterinary hospitals were labeled essential allowing us to continue to care for your four legged loved ones. We are proud to say that due to the precautions we quickly put in place and the diligence of our staff, both in and outside of the workplace, we were able to remain open during the COVID pandemic. What you may not be aware of is when Illinois and Winnebago County released their vaccine eligibility plan, veterinarians were included in phase 2, but many individuals were not able to get their vaccination series until April, due to over 60% of the county's employees being eligible in phase 2. Unfortunately, we did not hear back from Winnebago County Health Department about an on-site vaccination clinic, which required everyone to manage their own vaccination scheduling. This setback has slowed our reopening plan until very recently.
At this time we feel very strongly that we owe it to our staff to ensure that everyone is able to get fully vaccinated before we open our doors again. We ask for your patience and understanding as we remain curbside while we develop protocols for your return into our building. Our anticipated reopening date is Monday, June 21st. Please continue to check back as we will provide more information as that date approaches!
